Is there a cost?
Testing is always free and confidential.
What type of tests are offered?
Tests include HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C done through a blood draw as well as Chlamydia and Gonnorhea screening through urine collection.
Why is testing through blood?
Blood is drawn to offer the most accurate testing available.
Is rapid HIV testing available?
Rapid testing is done on a case by case basis and would be done in addition to the blood draw.
How do I get my results?
Currently all results must be given face to face to ensure the utmost confidentiality.
Results take 2 weeks to come back and can be accessed any Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the RAIN office. Results are also available Monday thrugh Friday at both locations of the Mecklenburg County Health Department without an appointment.
