Empowering Positive Youth
This program is funded by Ryan White Part D
Empowering Positive Youth (known as EPY) provides a comprehensive and holistic approach to serving the HIV positive adolescent population of the Charlotte metro area and its surrounding communities. This is an under-served and under-represented population to be mentally and physically ready for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
By providing peer navigation through psych-social services, education and outreach, and leadership training, EPY enhances the positive quality of individual and community life by providing services that are consistently available, accessible, and responsive to the needs of HIV positive youth.
This program has five components - CARE Management, Gender Specific Support Groups, Speakers Bureau, Social Media, and National Trainings/Conferences. Each part functions in conjunction with the others to form a collaborative comprehensive program providing optimal medical outcomes.
