RAIN Community Statistics

Network VolunteersVolunteers are matched up with clients based on specific skills, time, etc. with the specific needs of an HIV positive client(s). Network Volunteers could network with: RAIN staff, Hospice, hospitals, or other facilities, other volunteers on CareTeams; or with other ASOs (AIDS Service Organization). They may also network to provide transportation; help with special projects; or support clients with end stage AIDS issues.
CareTeams: RAIN currently has 47 CareTeams with 320 individuals actively working with CarePartners (clients). These individuals are supported by the RAIN Psychosocial Support and Pastoral staff.
In addition to the above volunteers, RAIN has a cadre of 150 to 175 individuals who volunteer their services in a variety of other activities.
Awareness & Prevention EducationRAIN provides prevention education and awareness about HIV and related psychosocial issues of living with HIV/AIDS to faith and community groups, young people and clergy. The RAIN staff is available to area congregations and the wider community to plan and promote awareness, education, and prevention. These resources / services include advocacy, clergy & congregational resources, clergy summit, and minority programs.

In addition, in 2009 RAIN has sustained formal relationships with various faith communities (churches, temples, mosques, etc). These relationships include approximately 75 faith communities.
