  • People living with an HIV or AIDS diagnosis in 2012: 26,437
  • New HIV diagnoses in 2013: 1,566
  • Deaths in 2012 due to HIV/AIDS: 541
  • 71% of people living with an HIV diagnosis in 2012 were men, 29% were women.
  • 65% of people living with an HIV diagnosis in 2012 were African American, 7% were Hispanic/Latino, and 25% were Caucasian.
  • In 2012, 68% of HIV cases in men were from male to male sexual contact, 10% were from injection drug use and 6% were from injection drug use and male to male sexual contact.
  • In 2012, 79% of HIV cases in women were from hetrosexual contact and 19% were from injection drug use.
